The Australian Powered Parachute Association It has become evident that more groups need to be established to cater to the needs and wants of like-minded Powered Parachute Pilots and their friends. After talking with other pilots, themes begin to emerge (see FAQ's ) - one of the most common being "where can I go to fly, to get more experience and to gain more knowledge? The answer, of course, is to join an association.   |

Flight Mentors Like a learner driver who learns to obtain a licence, but doesn't really know how to "drive", many student pilots fly 20 hours to obtain their licence, but one must question "do they REALLY know how to fly? Learner drivers, after all, are asked to have 120 hours experience learning "roadmanship". APPA includes members who are experienced pilots who are more than happy to act as "Flight Mentors" and pass on their knowledge in an informal atmosphere. A casual weekend fly-in or a BBQ lunch are but two of the learning opportunities available to APPA members.   |

Fly-ins Membership of the APPA will provide access to forums and calender pages where details will be provided on when and where people are intending to fly. Through our members, we already have several locations around Gippsland. Our aim is to build a network of suitable locations Australia-wide.   |
|
Non-pilot members Of course, you don't have to be a pilot to join the APPA. There is always a need for ground crew, with training available for marshalling, communications and BBQ snag turning!
